This fun Rosh Hashanah craft gives students a hands-on way to learn about the Jewish New Year. Students will create a camera craft with two connected photo strips. Each frame highlights a Rosh Hashanah tradition with a caption that goes beyond identifying it to explain its meaning and significance.
 
As students color, draw, and assemble their craft, they’ll discover why apples are dipped in honey, why challah is round instead of braided, what pomegranates symbolize, why the shofar is sounded, why saying sorry is part of preparing for the new year, and what it means to wish someone Shana Tova.
 
Two craft templates are provided, allowing teachers to choose the version that works best for their classroom. One features illustrations for students to color, while the other includes blank frames for students to draw their own interpretations of each Rosh Hashanah tradition. Both versions include the camera template, two photo strips, captions, and assembly instructions.
 
An illustrated worksheet with more detailed information about each Rosh Hashanah tradition is also included.
